My Friend Snowy

Our friendship began about 14 years ago back in Eirias Park one Wednesday evening. Mum had asked me to go line dancing with her as her friend couldn’t make it. I agreed to go but said I wouldn't get up and dance as I hated dancing, little did I know I would become hooked on it. I am so glad I did now, otherwise I wouldn't have met you, Marilyn, Dinah and a few years later Dilys and Edna. We have had so much fun and laughter and tears of both joy and sadness over our many years of friendship. Friday nights up at the Dance Ranch were memorable, with the evening being finished off with us sliding down three floors on the banister, it beat walking down all those steps anyway. We were the cabaret for one of Dinah’s parties, you dressed up in a wig, my skirt and Susan’s bra top, strutting our stuff. Our first weekend away was a country and western weekend in Butlins, Pwllheli. This was where you started to lead me astray!! (It didn't take much.) Having races down the water slides in the aqua park, trying to get in all our beds, running from chalet to chalet in your line dancing boxer shorts over your trousers like superman to name but a few things. At my wedding we line danced the night away, me in my wedding dress and cowboy boots. I will never forget you visiting me in hospital straight after the births of both Daniel and Matthew. When I asked how you had managed to get past the nurses as it wasn't visiting time, you said you had told them you were my ‘step dad’. You have been a great inspiration to all who have had the pleasure of knowing you. You never gave into the pain and suffering you were going through, you just got on with your life as best you could, even in the last couple of years when the going got tough. You have now been released from all of your pain and suffering. I will miss you very much, but will never forget all my memories and our special friendship. With much love. Your friend Fiona.
