Snowy was born ,the youngest son of David Llewelyn and Rosetta Elizabeth Griffiths. He was named Eirwyn as there was thick snow on the ground when he was born. The nickname Snowy was later introduced by his brother Emrys as a joke which stayed with him all his life, he found this name much easier to say as he always had trouble saying R.
